Koala Card

In my stash there are a lot of free cover kits of several cross stitch magazines.

This is my latest result:

a koala card designed by Angela Poole,
Cross Sticher Issues 249

I don't like the big googly eyes....the koalas look a little bit wired or?

Have a nice day

Hippy Holiday Part 6 / The Cushion is finished!!!!!

Today I finished my Hippy Holiday cross stitch cushion!!!
I am totally over the moon with the result!

For the cushion I bought a 70 x 40 cm polyester insert.

For this project I used also my new sewing machine.
I have now a Bernette Sublime London 3 sewing machine.
Tomorrow I will post some photos of the machine.

Enjoy,

Sonja

Hippy Holidays Part 5 / Finished cross stitching

Finally I have finished my Hippy Holiday cross stitch project.

Wow I really like it!!!!!!!!

Before I sew the pillow case I have to sew a pillow.
For that reason I bought 2 white pillow cases and stuffing.
It is a lot of work to do this project but later I can say 100 % handmade with love.

Have a nice weekend

Hippy Holidays Part 4 / VW Beetle and Caravan

I have finished the VW Beetle and the caravan.
I really like the design. It is so funny.
Today I ordered also a cream rig-rag for
the pillow case.

My parent's 1. car was also a VW Beetle. A red one.

Hippy Holiday Part 3 - Camper

I have finished the camper of the Hippy Holiday project!!
I am really happy with the result of the blue backstiches.
Now the camper looks totally different.

I used my overlock machine so the fabrik can't longer fray.

On the 1. photo you can see the fabric which I will use for the pillow case.
I hope I have enough thread because
I have also to stich the caravan.

Enjoy

Hippy Holidays Part 2

Here are photos of my Hippy Holiday project.

As you can see I have finished some of the vehicles.

Yesterday I have done some of the camper's backstitch because
I had not enough thread for the VW Beetle (DMC 3766 and 597 ).

The magazine says 30 hours for this project.
I stitched more than 30 hours and nothing is finished.

Have a great weekend,

Sonja

Hippy Holidays - Part 1

Today I went to my local charity shop where I bought a striped summer jeans
for just 1,00 €!!! That is really a bargain!!! The fabric (jeans) is perfect for one
of my future stitching projects:

the Hippy Holidays by Angela Poole
Cross Stitcher, Spring 2011

My to-do-list is getting longer and longer.....
but first I will stitch more little projects for our rental holiday home.

Enjoy
